Wesleyan College employs Synergy Security Services to provide safety and security on campus. Established in 2010, Synergy Security Services provides licensed security officers that patrol campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The safety officers are licensed by the State of Georgia to carry a firearm. The security team will work in tandem with Bibb County Sheriff’s department. You can reach the on-duty safety officer by calling (478) 960-7969 to report suspicious behavior, request an escort, or for other needs that can be addressed by your campus safety team. Any incident that is criminal in nature should be reported to campus safety immediately.
The Wesleyan campus safety officers conduct rounds and constant surveillance in order to ensure safety for the students, employees and visitors. We strive to provide first-rate protection to the campus community and ask everyone to:
Sign up for WesAlert. Wesleyan College’s emergency notification system.
Campus safety and crime prevention requires your active involvement! Do not assume someone else will report something. Notifying campus safety of any suspicious behavior or individuals is critical. Campus safety officers patrol the campus both by car and on foot on a regular basis in order to provide security and protection on campus, however all members of the campus community must play a role in their personal safety as well as that of others. Read the Annual Campus Safety Report.
Wesleyan College uses the Omnilert service we call WesAlert for notifying individuals about campus emergencies. You are automatically enrolled as an active user if you are faculty, staff or student with a Wesleyan email address.
Please review Wesleyan's Emergency Management Plan and become familiar with important procedures! From fires to tornadoes, now is the time to learn about emergency procedures so you'll know exactly what action to take should an emergency occur on our campus.
Wesleyan campus safety publishes quarterly reports of crime statistics as well as an annual safety report detailing crime information specific to our campus, as required by the Clery Act. The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is the landmark federal law, originally known as the Campus Security Act, which requires colleges and universities across the United States to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses.
