World-class professors - The single most important advantage of a Wesleyan College education is the quality of the interactions you will have with your professors. Since our classes typically have fewer than twenty students, you’ll be expected to debate, discuss, and defend your opinions. Undergraduate research - A hallmark of the Wesleyan experience is the opportunity to conduct research as an undergraduate in the labs of Wesleyan faculty, and our institutional support for the presentation of independent research by students at professional meetings around the country.
Cutting-edge facilities - Many U.S. universities and colleges have highly advanced research laboratories which allow you to take part in groundbreaking research and create innovative new products. At Wesleyan College you’ll find spaces like our Munroe Science Center, a state-of-the-art facility that includes modern teaching laboratories and fully equipped research laboratories; a nursing simulation lab equipped with six human patient simulators and a state-of-the-art control room; an art building with equipment necessary to explore 2D, 3D, and multi-media art making; and so much more.
Athletics – According to a national survey, students at U.S. women’s colleges are almost three times more likely to be involved in varsity athletics than at co-ed public universities. As members of the USA South Athletic Conference, Wesleyan is home to six NCAA Division III sports: basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, track, and volleyball, plus equestrian and club/cheer dance teams. About thirty-percent of Wesleyan students participate in College athletics.
Being independent and self-reliant - As an international student in the U.S., you will be living far away from your family and what is familiar to you. While this can be challenging when you first arrive, it is a valuable experience that helps you become independent and gives you the room to grow as a self-reliant individual. Wesleyan is a four-year residential college and most traditional students live on campus. We believe residence hall living provides a healthy environment for you to grow socially and intellectually. You will get to know the women in your residence hall well and form a close-knit and cohesive group. Each step in our living environment prepares students for independent living after college.

Located in the center of the state, Macon’s nickname is “The Heart of Georgia.” Situated at the juncture of I-75 and I-16, Macon is easily accessible to travelers coming from any direction. Both ground and air shuttle service is available from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which is about 90 miles to the north.

Macon’s metro population is around 150,000. Not huge, but not so small, either. As a “college town” Macon is home to Wesleyan and three other colleges. Macon is located in the center of the state, not too far from the mountains or from the ocean, and about 90 miles south of Atlanta. Macon is a town of great heritage and tradition where the soul of Georgia lives, offering countless activities for fun-filled days and weekends. Known as a city within a park, our unique and vibrant community offers activities including kayaking and tubing, farmers and craft markets, museums, a water park, restaurants, and a thriving downtown.
Macon is famous for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival which attracts thousand of people from around the world every March. Into sports? Macon is home to professional baseball and hockey teams and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, the largest state sports museum in the U.S.

The Anderson Dining Hall and Hurdle Cafe located in the Olive Swann Porter building serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Saturday and brunch and dinner on Sundays.
The dining hall features salads, pizza, grill items, stir fry, and a rotating menu of hot items each day. There are many vegetarian options available, and the Director of Food Service works with students on an individual basis to accommodate dietary restrictions.
All residential students are provided a meal plan. Residents in the traditional residence halls are entitled to 19 meals per week. Apartment residents receive 10 meals per week and also have fully-equipped kitchens in which to prepare meals.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ARE CONSIDERED FOR ENTRANCE INTERNATIONAL ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP, BASED ON THEIR GPA, TEST SCORES, AND OTHER ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS. THE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE OFFERED PER YEAR FROM $5,000 TO $15,000.
When you complete your online application as an International First Year Student; you are applying for international entrance scholarships at the same time. International entrance scholarships are awarded based on a comprehensive and holistic review of application materials.
All international students under F-1 or J-1 visas must live on campus.
Room and board cost includes a 19-meal plan for students in residence hall.
Institutional fee includes textbooks/course materials.
All international students on J-1 or F-1 visas must have Wesleyan's health insurance.
A minimum of 12 credits hours and a maximum of 18 credits hours per semester. With 19 credits or more an additional fee of $525 per credit will be added.
International students under F-1 visa are considered for merit scholarships, based on their GPA.
After submitted your online application; you are applying for scholarships at the same time. You do not need to complete a second application.
You can apply for 12 months of OPT at each education level, (i.e., you may have 12 months of OPT at the bachelor’s level and another 12 months of OPT at the master’s level). If you are an F-1 student earning a degree science, technology, engineering or math (STEM), you may be eligible for the STEM OPT extension. You can apply for OPT during your program of study, which is known as pre-completion OPT, or after you finish your program of study, know as post-completion OPT.
In order to apply for OPT, F-1 students must request approval from their DSO. A DSO makes this recommendation in SEVIS and by endorsing a student’s Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.” The student must then file the Form I-765, “Application for Employment Authorization” and supporting documents with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and if approved, USCIS will issue a Form I-766, “Employment Authorization Document.” You cannot begin your training until you receive your authorization from USCIS.
Pre-completion OPT is limited to 20 hours per week while school is in session, but can be full-time during breaks and annual vacation.
