Just over three months ago, Wesleyan College’s 26th President, Meaghan Blight, set a goal to raise one million dollars for Wesleyan College during her first 100 days. We can now officially say that we have accomplished that goal with a total of $2,213,000 raised!
“This unbelievable showing of support has provided funds to deepen and reach into new international markets, creating global opportunities for our students. It has increased our capacity to support and serve our community through new student initiatives and retention. It has provided start-up funds for a new CEO (Creating Equal Opportunity) Institute, to accelerate our students’ leadership trajectory with an end goal of making meaningful strides toward gender parity, and ultimately, accelerating equality for women.” - President Blight
To give back to the Macon community, President Blight also announced the start of a brand new community initiative, the Working Warriors program, serving as an opportunity for two local women to receive a full scholarship to continue or start the journey towards furthering their education. Watch the video above to learn more about this exciting new program.
