Anderson Dining Hall, located in the Olive Swann Porter Student Center, offers nearly 5,000 sq. ft. of functional beauty and seating for up to 350 guests. Dine by chandelier in this magnificent room, which is available for use as meeting space when school is not in session. The stately Anderson Dining Hall is distinguished by the vaulted ceiling, large arched windows, and unusual matching mantels graced with landscape murals. Side doors open onto Mount Vernon Porch, which also offers unique dining and reception options. Anderson Dining Hall is available to rent during non-school year times.
Oval Hall, located in the Candler Alumnae Building, will accommodate up to 250 guests and serves as an elegant ballroom space for wedding receptions, black tie galas, or seated dinners. Designed by renowned architect Phillip Shutze, the Candler Alumnae Building is an outstanding example of Georgian architecture. Originally Wesleyan's library, the building was renovated in 1971 as the Candler Alumnae Center and currently houses the offices of Alumnae Affairs and Institutional Advancement. Upstairs, the former library reading room was transformed into a ballroom/banquet room now known as the Oval Hall. It has been the site of alumnae reunions, inaugural balls, concerts, and luncheons. Completely restored in 1998, Oval Hall boasts ornate moldings, parquet flooring, and enormous windows that fill the space with natural light.
Sitting atop an exquisitely landscaped knoll overlooking the beautiful, heart-shaped Foster Lake, Pierce Chapel is the newest addition to Wesleyan's campus. Pierce Chapel is a sacred space that serves as the center of religious life on the campus of Wesleyan College. While this is the primary function of the Chapel, it may also be reserved by the wider community for weddings, baptisms, memorial services, and other appropriate gatherings. It is our joy to serve and celebrate with couples from all faith traditions and denominational affiliations on their special day.
Ceiling to floor windows and a vaulted ceiling allow sunlight to flow into the sanctuary, which has the capacity to seat about 350 guests. Special AV equipment (lights/blinds/music) is available for rental. On the lower level is a reception area that will accommodate approximately 83 guests.
General policies for Pierce Chapel are strictly enforced.
Wesleyan's Main Quad is the center of campus and offers gracious outdoor space for a wide variety of community events. Set this space up with tents, staging, tables, merchant booths, rides, etc. Wesleyan's Great Lawn, which is the site of many favorite Cherry Blossom Festival events, offers additional options for large outdoor weddings and receptions.
Wesleyan's best kept secret is hidden just behind Jones Hall and situated down the hill beside Foster Lake. Its recently renovated lobby offers the perfect space to welcome visitors as they pass through to the beautiful Terrace behind the building. Complementing the large concrete terrace is a gracious, manicured lawn that transitions to an azalea garden on the edge of Foster Lake. This picturesque setting is perfect for picnics, Bar-B-Qs, or an enchanted seated evening dinner for up to 150 guests.
