The Wesleyan College Alumnae Association (WCAA) has five open positions on its governing board of managers that need to be filled for a term that will begin in July 2027.
Interested alumnae should send an e-mail to wesleyanalumnominations@gmail.com and let the nominations committee know of their interest in these positions.
Serves as the Class Notes Editor for both magazine issues
Serves as the liaison for classes celebrating their 25th and older Reunions in the following manner: assists the Executive Secretary and President Elect in identifying and securing Reunion Class Chairs and Committee members; and supports the Reunion Chairs by ensuring accommodations are secured (i.e. hotel, class party venues, etc.)
Coordinates with members of the Alumnae Relations Ad-Hoc Committee to identify alternate representation
Coordinates with the College’s Publications Officer
Attends and participates in all the three meetings of the Board of Managers Quarterly Meetings which are held on the morning of the third Saturday in October, February, and May where reports are required to be presented to the Board summarizes the assigned completed and anticipated efforts
Attends and participates in the Annual Board Retreat which is held after the May Quarterly Meeting and before the October Quarterly Meeting. The Retreat traditionally is held over a weekend period. These meetings may be hosted in a hybrid fashion where accommodations for both in-person and virtual will be made available.
Performs duties of the Member-at-Large for Alumnae Relations as prescribed by the Board of Managers in addition to duties specified in the Bylaws of the WCAA.
Serves a three-year term with fiduciary responsibilities to the College and as a board member
Moderate travel is associated with this position often involving Wesleyan College, the destination selected to host the Quarterly Meetings, Annual Meeting, and events where the Annual Fund is marketed.
Extensive collaboration is required to be conducted with the Board and various committees.
Extensive written correspondence to the various committees is required under this effort.
Chairs the Development Ad-Hoc Committee
Monitors the giving amount and level of participation of the Board
Coordinates with the Executive Secretary to assess the annual giving of all alumnae based on class; particularly, the Reunion Classes for Alumnae Weekend
Reports the amounts donated to the Annual Fund and presents the Top 3 Reunion Classes that donated the greatest dollar amount to the College as well as the Reunion Class with the greatest number of active donors
Assists with the Development Office and Reunion Classes to gauge annual giving

Chairs the Connection Committee
Serves as the Affinity groups liaison (ex. Sisters of the First Five, intercollegiate athletes, LGTBQ+, major affinity groups)
Serves as the Lane Center for Social and Racial Equity liaison
Serves as the Office of Equity and Inclusion liaison (6 hours)
Coordinates all Diversity and Inclusion events scheduled throughout the Alumnae Weekend

Serves as the legislative liaison, as needed
Assists the MAL for Student Relations to identify alumnae to serve as candlelighters at the Annual Meeting
Performs duties of the Member-at-Large for External Affairs as prescribed by the Board of Managers in addition to duties specified in the Bylaws of the WCAA.

Serves as the Speakers Bureau Liaison
Represents Wesleyan College Alumnae Association at student events including Senior Breakfast, Senior Toast, etc.
Serves as the Office of Student Affairs Liaison with SGA and class president
Serves as the Student Leadership Liaison
Supports the Executive Secretary in all candlelighting efforts by identifying alumnae to serve as candlelighters; ensuring the accurate number of graduates during Alumnae Weekend
