A Note from our Provost

Confucius Institute at Wesleyan College

After careful consideration, Wesleyan College has made the difficult decision to close our Confucius Institute.

Over the past decade, the Confucius Institute at Wesleyan College (CIWC) has worked hard to build linguistic and cultural bridges between our institution and China. We are incredibly grateful for the CIWC's work preparing young women for success and leadership on the international stage.

The Confucius Institute will remain at Wesleyan until the end of December 2023 as we work closely with our partners to wind down operations and ensure the preservation of materials.

As an institution, Wesleyan College remains committed to the internationalization of our campus. Our recruitment efforts will continue across Asia. In addition, we will continue to provide high-quality leadership experiences for young women through initiatives like the newly-created CEO Leadership Institute, which will bring together domestic and international students to enhance their education through mentorship, coaching, and access to exclusive internships.
