Pianist Michelle Yelin Nam has garnered critical acclaim for her exceptional artistry, praised for her “silvery clarity and brilliant talent with a highly overt and dynamic temperament” (Montreal Gazette) and described as performing “in the manner of the greats” (La Presse). Radio Canada hailed her as “a prodigious talent with extraordinary interpretative depth.”

Dr. Nam has collaborated with world-renowned conductors including Kent Nagano, Heinrich Schiff, and Jacques Lacombe, performing with prestigious orchestras such as the Montréal Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, and Edmonton Symphony. Notable performances include Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto during Korean Liberation Day celebrations and the premiere of Jacques Hétu’s Triple Concerto with the Montréal Symphony Orchestra, featured on CBC Records. In 2024, she premiered Kenneth Park’s Korean Rhapsody No. 1, with a recording planned for 2025.

Chosen as one of the “Top Three Pianists” by Musical Cinema in Canada, she has received top prizes from international competitions including Juilliard’s Gina Bachauer Competition and the Hastings International Piano Competition. Dr. Nam earned her Doctor of Musical Arts from Arizona State University, with previous degrees from The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, and McGill University.

Originally from Seoul and now residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Nam continues to inspire audiences worldwide while balancing her career with motherhood.
