Thomas C. Ellington is professor of political science at Wesleyan College, where he teaches courses in American politics and political theory. His research has touched on a variety of issues, including official secrecy, freedom of information law, election administration, and local government finance. In 2014 he was a Fulbright Korea Senior Scholar. During the 2019-2020 academic year Ellington earned a master’s degree in public administration at the Harvard Kennedy School, completing projects in Flint, Mich., and Trenton, N.J.
Dr. Ellington was elected to the Macon City Council in 2007, serving two terms and chairing the appropriations committee during his second term. Since leaving elected office, he has continued to serve on a number of appointed boards. He is currently a member of the Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority. He has previously chaired the Macon-Bibb County Pedestrian Safety Review Board and was also a member of the board of the Macon Transit Authority.
