The Board of Managers of the Wesleyan College Alumnae Association (WCAA) is composed of 16 members, including three Alumnae Trustees who serve also on Wesleyan’s Board of Trustees and three Members-at-Large. In addition, the Director of Alumnae Affairs is an ex-officio member of the Board. The Board of Managers meets three times a year at Wesleyan College. The Board also holds an annual fall off-campus retreat to discuss goals and objectives for each fiscal year. The Annual Meeting of the WCAA takes place in April during Alumnae Weekend. The President is the chief executive officer of the Wesleyan College Alumnae Association (WCAA). She presides at all meetings of the Association. She chairs the Association’s Board of Managers and leads alumnae engagement at the College. The president also represents the alumnae of Wesleyan at various events on campus throughout the year. She is an ex-officio member of all committees of the Association and appoints ad-hoc committees as necessary to carry out the work of the Association based on the current needs of the College.

The President-Elect serves as Parliamentarian of the Association and as the Association’s liaison to alumnae clubs/groups. The President-Elect works with the Alumnae Office to support alumnae club involvement and engagement in other alumnae activities. She supports the President at events and activities as requested and represents the Association as needed in the President’s absence. She also chairs the Alumnae Scholarship for Leadership Committee and the Alumnae Club Committee.

The Vice President for Development serves as chair of the Development Committee. She and the committee support the Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) as advisors and help to define methods and ways to engage alumnae in meeting Annual Fund objectives. Each year during the Annual Meeting of the Alumnae Association, held during Alumnae Weekend, the Vice President or another representative from the Development Committee presents the Annual Fund report to the Association and announces the top three classes who lead in participation and overall giving.

The Vice President for Admission serves as chair of the Admission Committee. She is the liaison to the Office of Admission, assisting the department in the recruitment of students, as requested. She also assists in the planning and implementation of special alumnae events that focus on student recruitment.

She serves as chair of the Katharine Payne Carnes Lecture Series Committee, the Wesleyan Nomination Committee to select candidates for Georgia Women of Achievement, and the Pioneer Book Month Committee.
Vice President for Publications/Public Relations

The Vice President for Publications/Public Relations serves as liaison to the Office of Communication and works with the editor of College publications. The Secretary keeps a record of all proceedings of the Association, including meetings of its Board of Managers, as well as general meetings of the Association. She is responsible for handling the general correspondence of the Association.

The Treasurer prepares and presents financial statements of the Association at each meeting of its Board of Managers, chairs the Finance Committee of the Association, monitors the use of WCAA funds managed by the College, such as the Katharine Payne Carnes Lecture Series Fund and the Alumnae Scholarship for Leadership Fund.

The Past President serves as a resource for the current Association President and for the Alumnae Trustees, and assists board members in carrying out board projects and specified duties as requested. She is chair of the Alumnae Awards Committee that serves in the annual process of recognizing outstanding alumnae and identifying potential award nominees. She also assists the nominating committee in identifying potential alumnae/board volunteers. She may be asked to chair other special ad-hoc committees requested by the current WCAA president.
Three alumnae trustees serve on the Board of Managers and represent the Association on the Wesleyan College Board of Trustees. They join a group of more than 40 engaged professional men and women who also are devoted to our alma mater and who provide guidance in all aspects of the daily operations of the College, transforming ideas into actions that benefit Wesleyan. Alumnae Trustees work with College staff through committees which meet during the 2-day trustee meetings on campus three times a year. They promote all aspects of the College to everyone with whom Trustees deal in the areas of public relations, student recruitment, finances, academic programs, and others. Alumnae Trustees attend all meetings of the Board of Managers as well as all meetings of the Board of Trustees each year. The three alumna trustees, as members of the Wesleyan Board of Managers (BOM), attend as many of Wesleyan's special occasions and events during the year as time permits.
Member-at- Large for Nominations (2016-2019)

The member-at-large for Nominations chairs the Nominating Committee, selecting four members to serve on the committee with her. The committee solicits suggestions for potential BOM volunteers from the Association membership, through the WESmag (Wesleyan Magazine), College website, and from alumnae clubs; the committee also reviews qualifications of potential nominees. The member-at-large presents nominations to the Board for approval and presents the slate of nominees at the annual meeting. The member-at-large identifies future board members and maintains an Alumnae Leadership Database to use as a resource for potential BOM volunteers, as well as for other BOM committee volunteer positions.

The Member-at-large for Student Relations serves as a liaison between the students of Wesleyan College and the Association. She works with the Alumnae Office to inform students of the purpose of the Association and educates them on future responsibilities as alumnae of the College. She also maintains and grows annual student programs such as Senior Midnight Breakfast, Junior Java, Senior Toast, Candlelighting, etc. that cultivate sisterhood and loyalty to the College. She meets with elected student leaders periodically to determine ways in which alumnae can enrich the Wesleyan experience of current students. She communicates student needs/concerns to the Board of Managers and chairs the Student Relations Committee.

Natalie Puckett Evans ’02
This Member-at-Large serves as chair of Alumnae Weekend and works with the Alumnae Office to coordinate plans for Wesleyan’s annual reunion weekend, providing opportunities for alumnae to reconnect with the College, current students, and with each other. She also presides at the annual meeting of the Association during reunion, prepares a salute to reunion classes, and assists in the presentation of alumnae awards. As reunion weekend chair, she plans events and menus for food events, enlists weekend volunteers, and hosts House Parties for class reunion chairs and committees each fall and winter.
