Wesleyan College is climbing the ranks in several of the nation’s largest polls. The rankings were all based on a wide array of data and information, including graduation rates, professor-to-student ratio, accreditations, and job placement rates.
Wesleyan is one of America’s 399 most environmentally responsible colleges according to The Princeton Review. Schools for this ninth annual edition of its “green guide” were chosen based on data from the company’s 2017-18 survey of hundreds of four-year colleges concerning commitments to the environment and sustainability. “We strongly recommend Wesleyan to the many environmentally-minded students who seek to study and live at a green college,” said The Princeton Review’s Robert Franek, editor-in-chief.
In James Magazine’s 2018 education issue, Wesleyan placed in the top 10 in two categories: Top College and Top Success Rate.
According to Phil Kent, CEO and publisher of James, the magazine researched more criteria than ever before in compiling their school rankings system. As in the past, the staff analyzed U.S. News & World Report among other national and regional ratings, but also looked at other less-discussed metrics including completion rate and freshman retention rate.
According to U.S. News, Wesleyan ranks as one of America’s Best Colleges in four categories: National Liberal Arts Colleges, Least Graduation Debt, Most Diversity, and Most International Students.
U.S. News’ rankings formula uses exclusively statistical quantitative and qualitative measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality, including excellence as first-year student retention, graduation rates, and the strength of the faculty. In total, U.S. News has collected data on more than 1,800 independently regionally accredited institutions.
