Faculty Positions

Assistant/Associate Professor of Education

Wesleyan College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level beginning August 1, 2019 (depending on years of experience.)

Wesleyan College is committed to excellence in teaching and preparing students for excellence in the classroom.  We are seeking an experienced teaching professional with five or more years’ experience in a teaching role in grades K-5.  Applicants should hold a PhD, EDD, or be in the progress of obtaining this degree. A commitment to scholarly activity is expected.  The ideal candidate will have expertise in some of the following: Diagnosing Reading Skills, Teaching of Reading and Writing, Integrated curriculum across all content areas, Constructivist ideals and philosophy, Special Education, Social Studies, Learning Styles and differentiated instruction.

The department is especially interested in someone with high energy and an engaging teaching presence. The Department of Education at Wesleyan College has been preparing elementary classroom teachers for more than 30 years.  The department has majors in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s of Education program in Early Childhood Instruction.  We offer a minor in Reading Education and non-certification Educational Studies at the Middle and Secondary levels.

Assistant / Associate Professor in Nursing

The Division of Nursing at Wesleyan College invites individuals seeking faculty positions in nursing. Positions are academic full-time, tenure track faculty appointments that include didactic and clinical teaching at the undergraduate BSN level, faculty service, professional service and scholarship. Wesleyan College is the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women and has been granting degrees to women since 1836. Required qualifications for nursing faculty include a master’s degree in nursing with specialization in adult health, demonstrated clinical nursing experience and a current RN license in state of Georgia.

Staff Positions 

Data Operations Specialist

The enrollment management team at Wesleyan College is seeking a data operations specialist. Reporting to the Registrar, the data operations specialist provides leadership in the utilization of business intelligence, data analytics, and information systems to support the development and implementation of the undergraduate, online and graduate recruitment plan. The data operations specialist is responsible for building and maintaining application files for all incoming students as part of the student information systems for recruitment and admission, processing admission decisions, provide internal support for admission staff, and build queries designed to extract information to inform data-driven decision-making. 

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Contributes to the successful accomplishment of the enrollment objectives by developing and implementing data operations policies and procedures to support a comprehensive student recruitment plan for undergraduate, online and graduate students.
  • Processes applicant data efficiently and effectively while monitoring the progression and accomplishment of admission goals.
  • Maintains incoming application records of students applying to Wesleyan College using CRM data software system Jenzabar, in order to compile applications for evaluation and record data for information tracking and reporting.
  • Provides the data required to meet the needs of the Office of Admission by using query management tools, researching data requests to support enrollment goals and recruitment initiatives.
  • Supports recruitment efforts by understanding the data stored in the student information systems database tables, and maintains the integrity of the data entered into the database.
  • Identifies and assists with resolving related processing and technology issues
  • Creates application file and all required documentation triggers within the communication workflow. Processes admission decisions and prepares decision letters. Performs data entry and scanning of undergraduate and graduate admissions applications into Jenzabar.
  • Contributes to quality assurance for documents processed and information stored for prospective students. Evaluates High School and College transcripts. Calculates GPAs and high school rank. Performs data entry and oversight of data imports for standardized test scores such as GRE, TOEFL, SAT/ACT, AP, IB and other sources.
  • Assists admission counselors with questions and issues regarding student applications.
  • Compiles reports on prospective students for on-campus distribution.
  • Consistently review processes and messaging for efficiency and student satisfaction (inquired to enrolled messaging and processing, review enrollment website pages and keep current information posted).
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and facilitate carrying out instructions involving other departments, transmitting information accurately and tactfully.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards with minimal supervision.

Required qualifications for data operations specialist includes a preferred Bachelor’s degree in business management, information technology, or a related field or five years of related office experience, or combination of education and experience. 

  • Three to five years of progressive admission and higher education experience preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates without direct college admission experience who possess strong database and reporting management skills to include SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and analyze data and the business process needs of the integrated functions of a complex administrative business system is required.
  • Knowledge of database management, analysis, and reporting

Drivers -Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)  

Wesleyan College seeks to hire drivers with a current CDL to be part of an on-call list. Drivers will be utilized to transport students, student athletes, and other members of the Wesleyan community for various events and activities. The hours will vary to include weekends and evenings, and in some cases overnight stays may be required. Applicants should possess the following:

  • Current CDL license
  • Pass a background check
  • Have no DMV violations within the last two (2) years
