Reminders

Guest Reminders for Commencement Ceremony

  1. Arrive early! Doors to Porter Auditorium will be open from 9:00 am – 9:45 am for guests with tickets.

  2. Doors to the auditorium will open to the general public at 9:45. Guests without tickets can enter at that time on a first come first served basis until seats are filled. Guests arriving after 9:45, even ticket holders, will only be seated based on a space available basis. Doors to the ground level will close once seating is full or promptly at 10:00 a.m., and additional guests will be seated in the balcony only until full after this time.

Please note: The College has arranged a live streaming of the Commencement ceremony, so once seats are filled in Porter Auditorium, additional guests will be able to view the ceremony live on the big screen in Taylor Amphitheatre. With 150 additional seats, guests will be accommodated comfortably. Taylor Amphitheatre will open at 9:00 a.m. and remain open during the ceremony.

  3. Children under the age of 3 will be permitted to enter without a ticket only if the child will sit in the lap of an adult ticket holder. All children over 3 years of age must have a ticket to enter.

  4.  Once guests enter the auditorium, they will not be permitted to leave. Please remember to bring all necessary belongings into the auditorium upon arrival. Due to crowd control, guests will not be permitted to leave the auditorium to take pictures of the processional. Please do not bring balloons or other items which may obstruct view of the ceremony - these items are not permitted.

  5. Be sure that you have directions and a campus map to help park and find Porter Auditorium easily. Guests can park in any available parking spot on campus. We encourage guests to utilize Parking Lot B on a space available basis. Shuttles will circulate the parking lot to offer rides to guests. Parking is not permitted in the horseshoe in front of Porter Auditorium, but vehicles may deliver guests here before parking. Lot A is reserved for Wesleyan Market (front corner of campus).

  6. For your convenience, a buffet breakfast will be held on the morning of graduation. Guests may dine for $7 payable at the door, and RSVP by the graduate is requested.
