Ask a Librarian
Professional librarians are available at all times to assist with questions, to help locate books and other materials, to aid in database and print research, and to provide other information resources. . If you require one-on-one assistance with a research project or assignment, please contact Kristina Peavy or Virginia Blake to make an appointment. Circulation

Loan Periods for Wesleyan Students on Circulating Items
The standard loan period for Wesleyan students is 21 days with two renewals allowed, if no one else is waiting for the item. Some items circulate for 7 days, including juvenile collection, scores, and Honors Thesis. Other specific items such as periodicals, videos, and audio/visual materials do not circulate. A Wesleyan student ID is required to check out materials. Students may check due dates, fines, and renew items through their My Account link in our catalog. Failure to return in the allotted time period will result in fines.

Collection Development Policy

Non-Circulating
Non-circulating library materials such as periodicals, reference and audio/visual materials may be borrowed with the permission of a Librarian or faculty member for class presentations. Media may be checked out to students immediately prior to a class and must be returned directly after the class. Media may be checked out to a professor by a student only if the request is accompanied by a note or an e-mail from the faculty member. For those items that do not have barcodes, such as periodicals, a Non-Barcoded Item Request form must be filled out and signed by a Librarian. Due dates for these items are set by the Librarian. Please ask at the Circulation Desk about these forms.

Videos to Go
A limit of 3 popular DVDs, located on the main floor of the library, may be checked out for 3 days. Failure to return in the allotted time period will result in fines.

Reserves

Reserves consist of supplemental class materials placed in the library by faculty. Headphones, white board markers, USB cables, an iPad, and Nooks are also available through reserve. Loan periods are established by the individual faculty member and may be hourly in-library use, or one to seven day checkouts. Failure to return reserve material in the allotted time period will result in fines. A Wesleyan ID is required to use reserve materials. Search LUCY for reserve items.
