LEAP 2013! is an educational enrichment program designed to provide at risk youth an opportunity to have fun in a safe and nurturing environment. LEAP activities will keep your children interested and excited about enhancing their educational and leadership skills. Group activities, exciting educational opportunities, and cultural arts experiences are designed to actively engage kids and increase their exposure to various aspects of leadership, education, arts, and more.
LEAP Camp participants will receive 1 hour of math and reading instruction each day. Specially designed curriculum utilizing the Georgia Performance Standards focuses on strengthening test-taking skills and will help your child prepare for required competency exams next spring. LEAP Camp participants will broaden their horizons through a wide variety of group activities, field trips, and special guest speakers.
Two sessions are available: June 3 - 6, 2013 and June 10–14, 2013. Sessions are 10AM-3PM.

A nutritious lunch and snack will be provided through the USDA summer food program.
Staff & Facilities
LEAP 2013 will be staffed by Bibb County Public School System Educators, Youth Counselors from the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development, Wesleyan College’s Servant Leaders, and other qualified volunteers. LEAP Camp will be held on the Wesleyan College campus. Free transportation will be provided for participants of Aunt Maggie’s Kitchen Table Outreach Center (AMKT) After School Program.
Cost & Registration
LEAP Camp 2013 is FREE for Macon Housing Authority Residents! No registration fees or camp fees are charged for Macon Housing Authority (MHA) Youths. LEAP Camp is open to non-MHA youth for a nominal fee. Non-MHA youths are required to pay a $25 registration fee and $65 per week tuition. A limited number of scholarships are available.
LEAP Camp parents must attend a mandatory Parent Orientation Session at the Lane Center for Community Engagement located on the Wesleyan College campus in Jones Hall First Floor. Several Orientation Sessions are offered (select one). Parents must call to reserve a spot for the evening orientation sessions. For a reservation, please call or leave a message at 757-3799.
