Jones Hall is named in honor of C. Baxter and Carolyn Cater Jones. Mrs. Jones is a graduate of Wesleyan (Class of 1917), and Mr. Jones rendered valuable services as a trustee and college attorney over many years. Jones Hall was constructed in 1959 as a suite-style residence hall and underwent extensive cosmetic changes in the summer of 1999.
Along with its beautiful garden, Jones Hall sits on a hill overlooking Foster Lake. Picturesque views of the lake and horse pastures make it a popular wedding and outdoor event venue. With a conference room and overnight suite accommodations on the first floor, Jones offers housing and meeting spaces for outside groups. Every room is wired for high-speed internet and basic cable service. Bedroom suites are $55 to $65/night.
Just behind Jones Hall is the beautiful Mary Bennet Cox Dunwody Terrace, a large concrete terrace that transitions to an azalea gargen on the edge of Foster Lake. This picturesque setting is perfect for picnics or watching the sun go down.
