Two pieces in contrasting styles from two of the following historical periods: Baroque, Classical, Romantic or Modern (20th and 21st Century). Music should be performed from memory. Students should prepare two works of contrasting styles to perform and a hymn from any standard hymnal; music may be used for this audition. Please arrange a practice time on the organ before the audition by contacting the organ professor, Dr. Michael McGhee (email@example.com or 478-757-2433).
The student should prepare two selections from the solo vocal repertoire in contrasting styles. It is recommended that, when possible, one of the selections should be a song in a foreign language (Italian, French, or German) plus a second selection in a contrasting style. One selection from musical theatre may be used. A voice part from a choral composition is not permissible. Please bring a copy of your selections to the audition; an accompanist will be provided.
