The mission for the Center for Women in Science and Technology is to engage, sustain, and retain women in academic and professional science and technology fields. Center programs provide professional development and mentoring opportunities for girls and women across the development spectrum. Major programs supported by the Center include Spectacles summer camp for middle school girls, continuing professional development courses for local teachers, scholarship and programmatic support for the Math/Science Student Preparation and Retention Collaborative (M/S SPARC program). The Center also facilitates classroom visits by local schools for hands-on experiments.
