Welcome to Wesleyan College! As Provost of the College and Vice President for Academic Affairs, my responsibilities include overseeing all academic areas of the college including the faculty, academic programs and curricula, Willet Library, Registrar’s Office, Centers of Excellence, First-Year Experiences, Institutional Research, The Academic Center, and the Writing Center. Nothing pleases me more than discussing with students their academic journeys and helping faculty and academic staff create ways to enhance teaching and learning community at Wesleyan College.
I am a graduate of another United Methodist Women’s college much like Wesleyan, as are many special women in my life: my sister, my daughter, my niece, and my daughter-in-law, and since 1986 I have taught more than 4,000 women (and a few men!) in Religious Studies, Women’s Studies, and First-Year Experience courses. I love the unique living-learning community that we have at Wesleyan, including our commitment to help each student be as successful as she wants to be…and often to challenge students to be more successful than they ever imagined being.
The Office of Academic Affairs is located in Tate Hall. Among its many duties, our office helps coordinate Fall Convocation, Commencement, and Honors and Awards Day and manages the convocation requirement, course evaluations, and faculty searches. Each semester we acknowledge students who achieve grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5-3.99 with letters naming them to the Provost’s List.
