Faculty Positions: 

Assistant Professor in Cognitive or Developmental Psychology
The Wesleyan College Department of Psychology announces an opening for a tenure-track assistant professor in Cognitive or Developmental Psychology beginning August 2017. Preference will be given to candidates with strong teaching backgrounds, as well as research interests that could successfully incorporate undergraduate assistants. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. by the start of the position. We place great value on the multicultural representation of our student body and encourage applications from individuals who can add to the diversity of our faculty.

Wesleyan College, a liberal arts college for women founded in 1836, emphasizes teaching excellence and seminar-based classes. The psychology major is one of the most popular at the college, with a large number of majors going on to graduate school. In addition to classroom space, the department has dedicated lab spaces for research. The teaching load consists of 21 hours (7 courses) across the academic year, and may occasionally include evening courses. Courses to be taught include general psychology, statistics, research methods, and courses within the applicant’s specialization. Additional responsibilities include advising and committee work.

Assistant / Associate Professor in Nursing
The Division of Nursing at Wesleyan College invites individuals seeking faculty positions in nursing. Positions are academic full-time, tenure track faculty appointments that include didactic and clinical teaching at the undergraduate BSN level, faculty service, professional service and scholarship. Screening of applicant credentials will begin immediately and continue until positions are filled. Rank and salary based on qualifications and experience.

Required qualifications for Nursing faculty include a master’s degree in nursing with specialization in adult health, demonstrated clinical nursing experience and a current RN license in state of Georgia. Preferred qualifications include Doctoral degree and/or experience teaching in a baccalaureate degree in nursing program and an established program of scholarship and/or faculty clinical practice.

Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and 
Ackerman/Hurdle Chaplaincy Chair

Wesleyan College invites applications to fill the Ackerman/Hurdle Chaplaincy Chair: a tenure-track half-time Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and half-time Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministry beginning in August 2017 to teach courses in Religious Studies, to foster faith development, and to provide spiritual guidance to our academic community.  Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. in Religion, Theology, or Biblical Studies or those who anticipate completing the degree by the time of the appointment; however, we will consider ABD, D. Min., and other terminal degree candidates with strong evidence of scholarly and ministerial achievement.  Wesleyan College, the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women, is a small liberal arts women’s college in Macon, GA, with a highly diverse undergraduate population.

Short-Term Faculty Positions -
Wesleyan College of Guangzhou University, P.R. China

Wesleyan College (Macon, GA) seeks applicants for non-tenure track faculty in disciplines of Business, Economics, or Psychology to teach at Wesleyan College of Guangzhou University (WCGU) in Guangzhou, P.R. China for two or three years.  Positions are available for the 2017-2018 academic year.  Established in 2014, WCGU provides a unique dual-degree women’s liberal arts program through a partnership between Guangzhou University and Wesleyan College, the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women. 

Qualifications
Qualified candidates must earn a Ph.D. in Business, Economics, Psychology or related fields before the appointment begins.  Candidates with master’s degrees in relevant disciplines may be considered.  Fluency in English and commitment to teaching women in a liberal arts environment are required. Teaching experience and international travel experience are preferred. 

Salary and Benefits
Wesleyan College of Guangzhou University will provide an annual salary between 200,000 -300,000RMB per year and roundtrip air transportation from the instructor’s home country once per year.  WCGU will assist the candidate with arranging modestly-priced living accommodations.  Wesleyan College will provide orientation, training, mentoring and other professional support through its WCGU personnel.

Staff Positions: 

Head Volleyball Coach  Department of Athletics
Responsible for coaching, recruiting and managing the Wesleyan College, NCAA, Division III, volleyball program.  Teach in the Sports Management program and serves as the advisor of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).  This position reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs, Dean of Students and Athletic Director.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree required in business or sports related area.  Experience coaching and teaching on the college level preferred, high school level required.  The position requires demonstrated skills in communication, flexibility, organization, leadership, problem-solving, human relations, and ability to work with diverse populations.

Certified Athletic Trainer
Wesleyan College's Athletic Department within the Division of Student Affairs seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide assessment, treatment, and referral of athletic injuries. The Athletic Trainer provides individual treatment planning, daily rehabilitation, and preventative education opportunities for student athletes. This individual is an integral member of the Athletic Department team.

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Candidates must be a certified, licensed Athletic Trainer in Georgia. Previous experience as an Athletic Trainer required. Experience working in a collegiate setting preferred.

Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, organization, leadership, creativity, crisis-management, problem-solving, human relations, and the ability to work with a diverse population.

Drivers -Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Wesleyan College seeks to hire drivers with a current CDL to be part of an on-call list. Drivers will be utilized to transport students, student athletes, and other members of the Wesleyan community for various events and activities. The hours will vary to include weekends and evenings, and in some cases overnight stays may be required. Applicants should possess the following:

  • Current CDL license
  • Pass a background check
  • Have no DMV violations within the last two (2) years

Wesleyan College (on-call) Police Officer
On-Call Police Officers are called in on an as needed basis and just like the full-time police officer staff, they are required to protect the lives and properties of the Wesleyan College Community. On-Call officers fill in for full-time officers when they need time off. This could be a prepared leave time or an emergency leave time, which means On-Call officers must provide a schedule of their availability. On-Call officers will be required to cover a 12 hour (8am-8pm/8pm-8am) shift when called upon, and during special college events that require additional officers. They are required to respond professionally to the need for detection and prevention of crimes. Officers must be prepared to maintain law and order. On-Call officers are required to patrol the entire campus property by vehicle, and some by foot. On-Call officers duties also include traffic enforcement, accident reporting, and criminal investigations. On-Call officers are expected to secure physical structures on the campus and maintain a daily activity log. On-Call officers will provide security at social and athletic events, conduct safety inspections, control and direct traffic, enforce college rules and regulations, issue parking citations, and enforce the law governing the state, and other duties as defined by supervisors.

Job Qualifications:
Candidates must be twenty-one years of age, and have a valid driver’s license. All applicants must be certified through the Georgia Peace Officers Standard and Training Council. Must be in good physical condition, and able to work any shift. Must be able to handle stressful situations and be an effective communicator.
