Adjunct in Mathematics
Wesleyan College seeks an adjunct instructor of mathematics to teach one, and possibly two, lower level courses beginning August 14.  Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in mathematics or related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in mathematics.

Assistant / Associate Professor in Nursing
The Division of Nursing at Wesleyan College invites individuals seeking faculty positions in nursing. Positions are academic full-time, tenure track faculty appointments that include didactic and clinical teaching at the undergraduate BSN level, faculty service, professional service and scholarship. Screening of applicant credentials will begin immediately and continue until positions are filled. Rank and salary based on qualifications and experience.

Required qualifications for Nursing faculty include a master’s degree in nursing with specialization in adult health, demonstrated clinical nursing experience and a current RN license in state of Georgia. Preferred qualifications include Doctoral degree and/or experience teaching in a baccalaureate degree in nursing program and an established program of scholarship and/or faculty clinical practice.

Staff Positions: 

Coordinator of Undergraduate Science Labs
The Coordinator of Undergraduate Science Labs at Wesleyan College is a salaried, full time  position staffing the Munroe Science Center.  Job responsibilities include purchasing supplies and equipment, preparing for and setting up instructional laboratory exercises, coordinating student workers, tracking chemical inventory, coordinating maintenance and repair of instrumentation and monitoring building systems (de-ionized water system, autoclave, etc).  The Coordinator of Undergraduate Science Labs also assists with Spectacles Math and Science Summer Camp. 

We are seeking an individual who has a bachelor’s degree in the sciences (Masters preferred), who is well-organized and able to multi-task, with highly effective interpersonal skills. This individual should be proficient with basic laboratory techniques and equipment; competency with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel and Word is also required. The lab coordinator should have demonstrable commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment; the preferred candidate would have 1-2 years experience facilitating undergraduate laboratories and working with undergraduate students.

Admission Counselor
Wesleyan College is accepting applications for the position of Admission Counselor within the Office of Admission. This is a full time 12 month position.

The Admission Counselor position is essential to supporting the mission and enrollment goals of Wesleyan. The Admission Counselor participates in all admission-related activities including, but not limited to, management of an admission territory; high school visitations and College representation at college fairs; correspondence, telephone and email contacts; on-and-off campus interviews; implementation of on-and off-campus events; review of applicant files; and daily execution of the communication and yield strategy for admitted students. 

The work involves a thorough understanding of College enrollment goals and the ability to accurately translate those goals into effective recruiting techniques with applicants and their parents. The Admission Counselor must be a self-starter who effectively multi-tasks while maintaining the highest level of efficiency, communication, and attention to detail. The position involves some work that is routine in nature with considerable variation from the norm, usually involving communication with prospective students, their parents and family members, faculty, staff, and external audiences. The position includes responsibility for efficient use of time and equipment, as well as strong student, staff and public relations in the exchange of information inside and outside the College. This position requires substantial interpersonal skills (written and verbal), good judgment, flexibility and a team orientation, all of which directly impact the College’s image, reputation and fiscal success. This position requires the ability to travel and to load and transport admissions, materials, displays and other equipment.  A comprehensive knowledge of Wesleyan’s undergraduate academic programs and a well-articulated appreciation for the value of a liberal arts education are essential. The Admission Counselor generally works independently on essential functions, with supervision for overall performance expectations.

This position requires a BA/BS degree. The candidate must possess a valid driver's license. Required skills include proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, ability to quickly learn and utilize proprietary educational software, exemplary written and verbal communication skills, basic math ability, and excellent problem-solving skills. Preferred candidates will have experience working for an educational institution, and/or experience with Methodist or community outreach initiatives, and/or experience working in the admission office of a liberal arts college, and/or sales experience.

Head Soccer Coach
Position Description
Responsible for coaching, recruiting and managing the Wesleyan College, NCAA, Division III, soccer program and teaching in the Sport Management Program and Health Physical Education (HPE) courses.  Provides support to the athletic program for game day operations, coordination of athletic facility rentals/usage, summer camp and serves as the coordinator of the student-athlete experience (NCAA initiative).  This position reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs, Dean of Students and Athletic Director.

Qualifications
Masters preferred in Sport Management or Business Administration; Bachelor’s degree required. Experience coaching on the college level preferred, high school level required.  The position requires demonstrated skills in communication, collaboration, flexibility, organization, leadership, problem-solving, human relations, and ability to work with diverse populations.

Specialist, Interpreter Sign Language
This position facilitates communication with Deaf and hard of hearing students on campus. This position requires interpreting for academic courses, campus activities/events, and miscellaneous assignments for the College. This position will require approximately 25 work hours per week. This position requires a flexible schedule and may include day, evening, and weekend hours. Hours will vary each semester depending upon the interpreting needs of the College. This position is not eligible for benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following. However, additional duties and responsibilities may be a may be assigned as needed.

  • Provide interpreting services for students who are deaf or hearing impaired.
  • Assess language needs of all clientele and adjust interpreting to ensure accurate and effective communication
  • Prepare for interpreting assignments by reviewing notes and course syllabi, previewing required texts and course materials, and possible consultation with faculty and/or students
  • Conduct and assist with workshops and program to promote awareness of faculty and staff regarding the use of interpreters for serving deaf and hearing impaired students
  • Assist in adapting instructional materials to meet the needs of students who are deaf or hearing impaired
  • Provide general office support for implementing policies and procedures to meet the needs of students with disabilities

Knowledge

  • American Sign Language, interpreting and deaf culture
  • Interpreting and transliterating services provided in educational environments
  • Interpreter Services policies and procedures

Necessary Skills

  • Providing sign language interpreter services to students with hearing impairments for academic classes and various meetings and College functions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in interpreting or related field; OR Associate’s degree and two years of community, professional or post-secondary interpreting experiences OR Minimum five years of active involvement within the deaf community to include two years of community, professional, or post-secondary interpreting experience
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and English
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others and be self-motivated
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills

Certified Athletic Trainer
Wesleyan College's Athletic Department within the Division of Student Affairs seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide assessment, treatment, and referral of athletic injuries. The Athletic Trainer provides individual treatment planning, daily rehabilitation, and preventative education opportunities for student athletes. This individual is an integral member of the Athletic Department team.

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Candidates must be a certified, licensed Athletic Trainer in Georgia. Previous experience as an Athletic Trainer required. Experience working in a collegiate setting preferred.

Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, organization, leadership, creativity, crisis-management, problem-solving, human relations, and the ability to work with a diverse population.

Drivers -Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Wesleyan College seeks to hire drivers with a current CDL to be part of an on-call list. Drivers will be utilized to transport students, student athletes, and other members of the Wesleyan community for various events and activities. The hours will vary to include weekends and evenings, and in some cases overnight stays may be required. Applicants should possess the following:

  • Current CDL license
  • Pass a background check
  • Have no DMV violations within the last two (2) years

Wesleyan College (on-call) Police Officer
On-Call Police Officers are called in on an as needed basis and just like the full-time police officer staff, they are required to protect the lives and properties of the Wesleyan College Community. On-Call officers fill in for full-time officers when they need time off. This could be a prepared leave time or an emergency leave time, which means On-Call officers must provide a schedule of their availability. On-Call officers will be required to cover a 12 hour (8am-8pm/8pm-8am) shift when called upon, and during special college events that require additional officers. They are required to respond professionally to the need for detection and prevention of crimes. Officers must be prepared to maintain law and order. On-Call officers are required to patrol the entire campus property by vehicle, and some by foot. On-Call officers duties also include traffic enforcement, accident reporting, and criminal investigations. On-Call officers are expected to secure physical structures on the campus and maintain a daily activity log. On-Call officers will provide security at social and athletic events, conduct safety inspections, control and direct traffic, enforce college rules and regulations, issue parking citations, and enforce the law governing the state, and other duties as defined by supervisors.

Job Qualifications:
Candidates must be twenty-one years of age, and have a valid driver’s license. All applicants must be certified through the Georgia Peace Officers Standard and Training Council. Must be in good physical condition, and able to work any shift. Must be able to handle stressful situations and be an effective communicator.

Assistant to the Head Equestrian Coach
The position will be part time through the academic year (August-May) with the possibility of summer hours instructing summer camp.

Duties will include, but not limited to: assisting with riding lessons, organizing team travel, record keeping for IHSA teams, assisting in daily barn activities including barn chores, assisting with schooling of lesson horses and assisting with Wesleyan Equestrian schooling show series.

Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidate must have previous equine experience and be comfortable riding at the walk/trot and canter (hunt seat or western).
