Summer Leadership Institute
Since it was formed by Wesleyan alumnae and trustees Diane A. Lumpkin ’63, Alexis X. Bighley ’67 and Lynda Brinks Pfeiffer ’63 in 2000, the Wesleyan College Leadership Institute has given Wesleyan women the opportunity to grow and experience leadership possibilities in the “real world.”
Each Institute offers those selected unique opportunities to meet and interact with leaders in their respective fields and gain insight from their experiences. In recent years, the Institute has convened in Denver, Seattle, and Boston, and topics have ranged from genetics to urban revitalization.
The students who are selected are not picked solely on grades; they also have to be well-rounded, with demonstrated leadership abilities. For students who participate, the Leadership Institute is an excellent opportunity for self-development – and a great way to stand out to potential employers.
