Physical Description
Jones Hall was constructed in 1959 as a suite - style residence hall with extensive cosmetic changes in the summer of 1999. As a home to the Center for Community Engagement on the first floor, Jones houses students on the second and third floors. Situated on a hill beside Foster Lake , it includes 36 rooms and can house 72 students comfortably. Every room is wired for high-speed internet access and extended basic cable service is available in each room as well. There is a printer located on each floor for student use.

Accommodations include:

  • Rooms are suite-style with every two rooms sharing a bathroom
  • Average room dimensions are 13.3' x 15.8'
  • Average window dimensions are 31.5" x 60"
  • Vanity area and sink are provided in every room
  • Study lounges are located on each floor
  • Patio overlooking the lake
  • Large porch overlooking the front of campus
  • Laundry facilities in basement
History
Jones Hall is named in honor of C. Baxter and Carolyn Cater Jones. Mrs. Jones is a graduate of Wesleyan (Class of 1917), and Mr. Jones rendered valuable services as a trustee and college attorney over many years.

Residential Environment
Jones Hall has accommodated many students in the past years, traditionally housing upper-class students.

Any community housed in Jones has been independent and energetic. The sizeable front lounges allow for large group gatherings and socializing while the smaller study rooms allow individuals to excel in academic work.
