History
Elizabeth Turner Corn Hall was named in honor of the Wesleyan College graduate (Class of 1947) from Columbus , Georgia .

Betty has been a wonderful supporter of Wesleyan over the years and a very active woman in her community. In 1987, she received the Wesleyan Alumnae Distinguished Service to Community Award. Her spouse, Lovick Pierce Corn, is a trustee of Wesleyan. Both Betty and Lovick are direct descendants of Wesleyan's first president, George Foster Pierce and Lovick Pierce a founding trustee of the college. Notably on Betty's side is Ella Pierce Turner, founder of Alpha Delta Pi. We have various Alpha Delta Pi memorabilia here on campus but the main exhibit is a the Cannonball House where the portrait of Ella Turner now hangs.

Ernest and Pauline Pierce Corn Hall was named in honor of the Wesleyan College graduate from Griffin , Georgia .

Dr. Ernest Corn, originally from Hiawassee, Georgia graduated from Emory University with a degree in medicine in 1916 with a concentration in Urology. He was a veteran of WWI where he served in base hospitals in France and in Germany . Dr Corn was a member of the Bibb County Medical Society and the Macon Rotary Club.

Originally from Griffin , GA , Pauline Pierce transferred to Wesleyan from LaGrange College in 1915. While here, she was a very active student who was most notably involved with the Literary Society, the Y.W.C.A and the Glee Club. “Polly,” as her classmates referred to her, was also an accomplished Basketball player.

After Wesleyan, Pauline presided as President of the Macon Alumnae Club and as an Alumna Trustee of the College. In 1968 she received the Alumnae Award for distinguished Achievement. Polly served as the “Garden Ventures” columnist of the Macon Telegraph and was also involved in the Garden Clubs of Georgia, the Women’s Auxiliary to the Medical Association of GA, the Macon Community Concert Association and the Macon Writers’ Club. She was also an avid studier of Genealogy. Polly died July 16, 1987.

When ground was broken for the halls in 1998, the Class of 1999 – first to occupy the new hall – provided a time capsule with Wesleyan memorabilia to be placed outside the building.
