Please join us for STUNT: February 25, 2012!
From hilarious costumes to moving candlelit ceremonies, tradition is alive and well at the world’s oldest and boldest college for women. Many students and alumnae claim STUNT to be their favorite sisterhood tradition. Unique to Wesleyan, the original musical/theatrical competition is written, produced, and performed by students.

This annual class musical production dates back to 1897. The four classes write, direct, act, and produce their own skits to compete for the coveted STUNT cup. All proceeds from the annual event benefit academic scholarships. The 2012 performance will mark the 116th annual STUNT competition. At the heart of STUNT and Wesleyan sisterhood is a strong class-year system that dates back to the early years of the 20th century. Each class is identified by color and mascot name and has its own songs and cheers. Class mascot names include Pirates, Golden Hearts, Purple Knights, and Green Knights. Class traditions took the place of sororities, which were abolished in 1914 and determined to be too secretive and undemocratic.

Saturday’s performance of STUNT will include Faculty Follies, a fun skit involving dozens of faculty members and high ranking college administrators. Prepare for a night filled with chants & cheers, costumes, and outrageous show of spirit.
