ALL GRADUATES – Caps, gowns, and hoods can be purchased through the College Bookstore during regular Bookstore hours.
February 2, 2009
Deadline to notify Registrar of official name change (marriage, divorce, etc.) for diploma for students completing degree requirements in May.
March 6, 2009
Deadline for ALL GRADUATES to choose a Hooder. Please contact Rejeana Cassady at 757-5228 with the name of your Hooder.
March 18, 2009
Last day to withdraw from a class to receive a grade of “W.” You must withdraw through the Office of Records and Registration, Tate 120. Students who stop attending class and do not withdraw by the deadline receive a grade of “F.” (See page 41 of the College catalogue.)

Commencement Dress Rehearsal, 1:30 p.m., Porter Auditorium, for ALL graduates (Undergraduates with hooders and MA graduates with hooders).
Senior class group portraits taken after rehearsal.
Marker Ceremony, 6:15 p.m., Main Post Office Downtown, all graduates invited to participate. Contact Rev. Hurdle (757- 4023) for information.
Baccalaureate Service, 7 p.m., Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, for all graduates, family and friends. Contact Rev. Hurdle (757- 4023) for information.
May 9 Commencement 2009
8-9 a.m., Buffet breakfast for ALL graduates and their families, Mt. Vernon Porch. Contact Susan Hall, Student Affairs (757-5216) for information. Rain location: Anderson Dining Hall
9 a.m., Porter Auditorium doors open for guests with tickets. Commencement tickets are limited, more information will follow.
9:15-9:45 a.m., ALL graduates (Seniors with hooders and MA graduates with hooders will line up in hallways outside of Trice Room and Bookstore in OSP. Junior marshals will direct graduates. In case of rain, line up in stairwells of Porter Auditorium.)
9:45 a.m., Procession begins (everyone must be in place). Remaining seats available to public. There will be no seating after the ceremony has begun.
10 a.m., Commencement Exercises, Porter Auditorium
12:15 p.m., Graduation Reception for all graduates, family, friends held on lawn in front of Porter Auditorium. Sponsored by Alumnae Association (rain location: Anderson Dining Hall)
