The Wesleyan Police pride themselves in keeping the campus comfortable and safe at all times. Represented by a Chief of Police and 5 officers, the team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our police officers are POST-certified through the Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training Council and have the power to arrest and carry firearms.
As certified, the Wesleyan Police conduct rounds and constant surveillance in order to ensure safety amongst the students, faculty, and staff. In order to provide first rate protection to the population on campus, the officers ask others to:
- Use well-lit, well-traveled routes and walk in a group.
- Avoid isolated places.
- Carry your keys in your hand when you walk to your car from residence hall door.
- Lock your vehicle and be sure all windows are closed.
- Before entering your car, check the back seat.
- Don’t leave valuables, like your purse or book bag unattended.
- Take care of your keys and never loan them to anyone.
- Do not go into the woods alone and never at night.
- Report suspicious individuals or behavior to Campus Police immediately.
- Check the Emergency Procedures web page for detailed instructions in the event of a campus-wide emergency.
Campus safety and crime prevention requires your active involvement! Notifying Campus Police of any suspicious behavior or individuals is critical. Campus Police Officers patrol campus on a regular basis in order to provide security and protection on campus, however all members of the campus community must play a role in their personal safety as well as that of others as well.
A Campus Police Officer can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
