I’ve watched open-heart surgery, volunteered at Texas Children’s Hospital and conducted research on infertility technology—all because of Wesleyan. Undergraduates at other small colleges simply don’t get the chance to do things that are typical here.

One of my biology professors, Dr. Wanda Schroeder, happens to be a Wesleyan grad. She nominated me to attend a summer research program at Baylor Medical College in Houston. What a summer! I worked with students from Harvard, MIT, and Rice and learned that I can compete with any of them.
