A special name and a special purpose – the Loyalty Fund is named for Jennie Loyall Manget, Wesleyan’s first alumnae director, and represents our alumnae’s support of the Annual Fund. If you are an alumna, any gift you make to the Annual Fund is automatically counted in the Loyalty Fund totals. Also included in Loyalty Fund totals are gifts from alumnae’s spouses, family foundations, and matching gift companies.
While many friends, parents, businesses and others join in their support of the Annual Fund, it is undeniable that alumnae support is the backbone of this critical fund! Last year, alumnae gifts comprised more than 49% of the total Annual Fund.
Every gift makes a difference – both large and small. Think of your own Wesleyan experience, and how much scholarships and other financial support meant to you and your classmates – and then think of increasing your donation. The stronger your support, the stronger Wesleyan will be.
The Loyalty Cup – help your class win it!
The best Wesleyan memories are steeped in tradition. Small classrooms, inspiring faculty, and fierce class competitions. In that spirit, Wesleyan has launched our newest class competition – and a first for alumnae: the Loyalty Cup. The Cup will be awarded to the collective class with the highest participation rate at fiscal year-end. Enlist your classmates – no longer to run down the soccer field or rehearse for STUNT, but to work together to ensure the continuous work of Wesleyan and the traditions you loved for today’s students!
The great Green Knights have won the Loyalty Cup Competition for the second year in a row! The start of a new fiscal year offers the opportunity to heat up the competition for 2008! The fiscal year ends June 30, 2008 – and so does the annual Loyalty Cup Competition. Who will win in 2008? Check back regularly for updates on the current Loyalty Cup Competiton.
