Wesleyan Equestrian

Wesleyan College is well-known for its outstanding equestrian program. With two national champions in hunt seat and western events in recent years, we really fit well in the saddle. Our equestrians compete in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and Affiliated National Riding Commission (ANRC) events.

Since its inception in 1928, the program has developed the unique ability to accommodate riders competing at varying skill levels; however, National competition status is a feat a number of our women have accomplished.

At the heart of Wesleyan’s equestrian program are the high-caliber horses housed at the beautiful Nancy Ellis Knox Equestrian Center. Completed in the summer of 1999, the facility includes a 24-stall barn featuring student and boarder tack rooms, three wash racks, feed rooms as well as classroom, meeting and office space. There are six turn-out paddocks connected by a fenced allee and a lighted riding ring. With all of these accommodations, a number of our students find boarding their horse on campus provides convenience, safety, health and peace of mind.
