International Study Abroad and Exchange Programs
Either we're getting more and more global or the world is shrinking. No matter where you choose to go to college, everybody's talking about study abroad. And the women of Wesleyan are no less worldly. The International Study Abroad and Exchange Program of Wesleyan College extends the boundaries of our campus, widens our educational horizon, and encourages personal and academic growth through semester, summer, or year-long studies in a variety of countries.

Wesleyan maintains cooperative agreements through the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) and National Student Exchange (NSE) which provide access to a wide range of institutionally approved national and international colleges and universities in popular destinations that include the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Japan, China, Australia, Austria and Argentina.

In addition to these cooperative agreements, Wesleyan College has direct exchange agreements through the Business Education Initiative with various schools in Northern Ireland and with the following schools:

From time to time, Wesleyan faculty lead special study groups to various countries such as Greece, Russia, Italy, China, Guatemala, and Great Britain. More about upcoming faculty-led study abroad trips. And every summer, faculty organize valuable travel opportunities inside the United States for students.  Find out about a group of ten students who traveled to San Francisco through Wesleyan's Summer Leadership Institute.

One recent graduate Lindsay Rosenquist ’06 claimed that her 2005 study abroad experience in Berlin not only broadened her perspective but also inspired a career path. She intends to influence change nationally by looking internationally. Read about how she spent four weeks at an intensive language school, interned for six weeks in the law department of a German lobbying firm translating legal documents for the European parliament, and still had time to research.

We take our global partnerships seriously. For example, when Wesleyan College and Ulyanovsk State University’s Student Exchange Program began in 1999, few realized the program had the potential to become a model of excellence for ambassadorship and global community leadership. But unexpectedly, the participants of the program became completely inspired by the cultural exchange of ideas. As a result, a simple foreign exchange program has grown into a network of international relationships. Those involved claim the momentum has only just begun. More!
